CSG is committed to improving education for all learners, including teachers. Our Internships and Teacher Learning Lab opportunities are designed to introduce current and aspiring educators to our unique approach to girls' education, science research in the classroom, and student leadership.
Internships
Internship positions will be offered for each semester of the academic year to women who are working towards or have earned a BA or BS degree and have skills and background in any of our program areas. The internship experience is intended to provide these women with an opportunity to work directly with students in CSG’s unique academic and residential community, and prepare them for future careers in education.
Under the supervision of CSG faculty and staff, interns will assist in all three strands of the curriculum. In addition, interns will live with the students and will be expected to provide a healthy, safe and positive living environment for the girls. Finally, interns will help design and lead weekend activities, as well as supervise and coordinate students’ non-academic time on campus.
Teacher Learning Lab (future offering)
Experiential professional development for science teachers is all too rare. Coastal Studies for Girls’ Teacher Learning Lab is a residential professional development opportunity for teachers from both area and participating schools conducted while classes are in session and during the summer. Participants will have the opportunity to observe and participate in all of our classes, with a concentrated focus on the Scientific Research Strand.
