Hello Friends of CSG, We're pleased to share an update from Coastal Studies for Girls, and are hoping this finds you and yours enjoying a wonderful summer. Some of you have already received this update through the US Postal Service, but for others we only have your email address. If you'd like to be added to our mailing list, please email us at info@coastalstudiesforgirls.org You'll see that our look has changed, and our new logo inspires us as we move forward. The main focus remains the “Triumphant Girl” reaching for the stars, but she is now embodied in a blade of grass, as the natural world is highlighted through our marine science research and environmental seminar. The ripple signifies the impact the CSG graduate will have upon her home, school and community. We are incredibly grateful to Puelle Designs in Yarmouth for dedicating significant pro bono time and energy to the creation of all our new materials. Things are progressing especially well with our main partner, Wolfe's Neck Farm. Campus plans are underway and exciting design has been ignited through the talents of Van Dam Architecture and Design, and Mohr & Seredin, of Portland . We are pleased to welcome Wright Ryan Construction, also of Portland , as we focus on the details of Phase One. We are enthusiastic about the rehabilitation opportunities of the 1850's farmhouse and barn, and are planning on a small, responsible number of students for our first semester. Working with professionals in green design and LEED certification, we envision not only a program, but a campus that is a learning tool for all. We've attached a pdf of our new one page document, and we'd be pleased to have you check it out and share it with others. Just click on the pdf icon to view the document. We also invite you to visit www.coastalstudiesforgirls.org when you have a moment ~ you'll see a new look on our website as well. We do our best to keep the site current so that interested folks can stay updated. Please stay tuned for the date of the opening semester! As you must surely know, your investment and support have guided us through our first two and a half years. With significant optimism and momentum, we look ahead to welcoming the pioneer group of students to the first ever residential science and leadership semester school for girls in the nation. With gratitude, Pam Erickson |
