Invest NOW and Watch Us GROW

The 5 W's of Investing in Coastal Studies for Girls

Who invests in CSG?  You do.  You have already invested some of your time and we appreciate your learning more about us from our website.  Chances are that if you have already invested your time, you are interested in supporting CSG with more of your time and perhaps your talents and even treasure.

What kinds of things will my investment support?  Depending on how much you already know about our Semester School, Summer Programming and Campus Expansion, you can probably answer this question yourself.  If you feel that you have not yet learned enough, we invite you to continue to explore and discover more about us on our website, to meet with a member of our Administrative Staff or Board of Directors or best of all, to visit us at the yellow farmhouse.  To arrange a meeting or visit for yourself, a potential applicant or any other interested party, please contact our office at (207) 865-9700 or by emailing info@coastalstudiesforgirls.org.

When should I make my investment? Your investment is of course, welcome at any time, but right now, you have an opportunity to help us to serve substantially more girls and to add programming for women and educators.

Where will my investment do the most good?  There are many facets of our programming where your gift would allow us to continue our work so we encourage our supporters to make unrestricted gifts.  However, if you would like to designate your gift for a specific purpose, you can rest assured that your wishes will be honored.

Why is my philanthrophy important to Coastal Studies for Girls?  We believe that your philanthropy is important to CSG for exactly the same reason it is important to you: it makes our world a better place.

Unique and Innovative Programming Now Available All Year Long

Invest in our flagship Science & Leadership program, the Semester School:

In four semesters of operation, we have graduated 54 extraordinary high school girls from our Semester School.  Our Fall semester runs for 16 weeks, August through December.  Our Spring semester runs likewise for 16 weeks, February though June.  Our Campus Expansion (see below) will allow us to double the number of girls in each semester's cohort.

Invest in our latest adventure, Summer Programming:

Our inaugural Summer 2012 Programs extend the CSG experience to middle school girls, women and educators.  Summer programs are 5 to 7 days long and use as their base of operations our beautiful Freeport campus.

Greater Capacity = Greater Opportunity = Campus Expansion

Invest in our Campus Expansion:

It has always been our intention to expand the range of opportunities available at CSG.  Opening the Semester School in 2010 with a capacity of 15 students per semester has allowed us to pilot and ultimately strengthen the Semester School.  Launching our Summer Programming in 2012 allows us to reach out to a variety of age groups.  The final step on our journey to completion is to expand our campus so that we can bring our programming to many more girls, women and educators.  Our expansion will also allow us to add more program enhancements, such as a Scholar-in-Residence Program.
